The Heart of Social Impact at Scrubbed

At Scrubbed, we believe that our commitment to excellence extends far beyond the services we provide—it’s also deeply rooted in how we show up for our communities.

Long before it had an official name, Scrubbed professionals were already finding meaningful ways to give back and create lasting, positive change. In 2021, this passion and purpose were formalized through the creation of the Social Impact Events (SIE) Committee, a team dedicated to expanding and organizing our social impact efforts.

The SIE Committee was established to support Scrubbed’s commitment to corporate social responsibility by building bridges between the company’s resources and the evolving needs of the communities we serve. With a clear mission to empower, uplift, and create sustainable change, the Committee provides a platform for Scrubbed professionals to actively contribute to causes that matter.

Guided by Scrubbed’s mission and vision—

to be a global community that attracts and develops the right talent committed to providing excellent products and services—the Committee plays a vital role in aligning our business model with our deeper purpose: creating and sustaining social impact in the local community.

Our impact reaches across multiple areas: we help improve living conditions, empower individuals through skills development, and strengthen relationships with partner organizations. The Committee’s activities span Environmental Initiatives, Community Engagements, Education, and Health, ensuring we contribute to a well-rounded and meaningful social presence.

Through the SIE Committee, we are not just supporting communities—we’re cultivating a culture of service, compassion, and shared responsibility. This is what it means to be Scrubbed.

Tree Planting

In 2024, Scrubbed launched its commitment to environmental sustainability through two impactful tree-planting events.

On March 23, 38 volunteers planted 100 bamboo seedlings and 200 fruit trees in Sitio Target, Angeles City, in partnership with the Abacan River and Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council, Inc. (ARAW-ACI) and the Kapatirang Aetas ng Angeles-Porac para sa Kalikasan at Agrikultura (KAAPKA). The day ended with heartfelt reflections, a shared lunch, and a gift of a grass cutter to our community liaison, Kuya Henry, as a token of gratitude.

Building on this momentum, 15 volunteers gathered on August 4 at Wright Park, Baguio City, for another tree-planting initiative in partnership with the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO). Together, they planted trees to combat climate change and promote environmental restoration.

These events reflect Scrubbed’s united efforts to nurture the environment and create a greener, more sustainable future.

Blood
Donation

The “Bee a Blood Donor, Bee Someone’s Hero” drive on May 31, 2024 was a huge success, with over 60 Scrubbees participating and 42 donating blood, directly aiding 126 individuals.

In addition, 50 medical supplies and healthcare products were donated to support cancer patients at JBL, with a special focus on the hospital’s elderly patients. Scrubbed’s contributions and the dedication of participants, including the invaluable support of Nurse Myrla, made this event a powerful example of teamwork and compassion in action.

330 KG - fresh produce resold

The “Fruits and Veggies Selling for a Cause” event was a great success, with 330 kg of fresh produce resold to support the families in Sitio Target, Sapang Bato, Angeles City. The initiative, stemming from our tree and crop planting efforts, not only provided the community with fresh fruits and vegetables but also helped generate funds for their continued growth. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the cause by making purchases, helping to make a meaningful impact on both the community and the environment!

Adopt-a-Community

The SIE team demonstrated its commitment to community well-being during the holiday season
through a two-part outreach program. The initiative encompassed a mobile food
distribution program, providing lunch and snacks to 200 individuals in need, including blue-collar workers, across San Fernando, Clark, and Angeles. Simultaneously, the team partnered with Makabali Hospital to provide essential hygiene kits and financial assistance to 23 patients battling cancer and undergoing dialysis treatment. These collaborative efforts aimed to uplift the community and make a positive and lasting impact.

Clean-Up Drive

On October 12, we successfully held a Clean-Up Drive with Barangay San Rafael Baruya, Lubao, Pampanga. Over 100 barangay residents and 12 Scrubbed volunteers worked together to clean streets, repaint the basketball court, and plant flowers. The event also included a seminar on waste collection and environmental sustainability.

Aid for Typhoon Carina

Following the aftermath of Typhoon Carina, Scrubbed’s SIE Committee successfully provided aid to 680 families across Bataan, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Pampanga, and Rizal. Mental Health Awareness

On October 5, 2024, Scrubbed’s Human Resources and Social Impact Events teams successfully held the second installment of the Community Mental Health Project, featuring Psychological First Aid (PFA) Training for representatives from five barangays, including Health Workers, Safety Officers, and Admin Staff. Led by psychologist Rainier S. Ladic and co-facilitator Gerald Escleto, the training covered mental health principles, listening skills, and stress management, with participants engaging in role-playing exercises. Attendees received 40+ self-care kits, 5 sets of medical supplies, and 50 BHW uniforms. This initiative aims to create a long-term, sustainable impact by empowering community representatives with critical mental health tools and resources, strengthening community bonds, and ensuring that communities are better equipped to manage mental health challenges in the future.

Animal
Welfare

Aid for Disaster Relief

It's great to see SIEs deep-seated commitment to community support, especially in times of natural disaster. This compassionate practice, facilitated by the SIE Committee and the collective efforts of Scrubbees across the Philippines through SIE Chapters, ensures that tangible assistance reaches those most vulnerable. By strategically partnering with local organizations and Local Government Units (LGUs), SIE ensures that aid is effectively distributed and aligned with the specific needs of the affected communities.

The response following the devastating aftermath of Typhoon Carina stands as a powerful testament to SIE's unwavering commitment. The SIE Committee's swift and effective action brought much-needed relief to a significant 680 families spanning across Bataan, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Pampanga, and Rizal.
The aid provided was thoughtfully curated to address the immediate necessities of the affected families. The distribution of food packs offered sustenance during a critical time, while the provision of rice, a staple in Filipino households, provided a reliable source of nourishment. Recognizing the importance of health and sanitation, the inclusion of hygiene kits further underscored SIE's holistic approach to disaster relief.

The success of this initiative was significantly bolstered by the dedicated donation drive held from July 30 to August 8, 2023. This collective effort, fueled by the generosity of Scrubbees, resulted in a substantial collection of essential items.
Pre-loved clothes offered comfort and dignity, while the contributions of canned goods, instant noodles, and drinks provided readily available and non-perishable food options. This widespread participation highlights the strong sense of community and shared responsibility within the Scrubbed organization.

This initiative not only provided immediate relief but also demonstrated the enduring spirit of care and support that defines the Scrubbed Incorporated community.

Animal Welfare

Helping animals in need is an important part of what we do at SIE. Many animals, especially those in shelters or living on the streets, face challenges every day. They may lack food, proper shelter, medical care, or even simple affection. Our goal is to change that by promoting kindness, encouraging responsible pet ownership, and doing what we can to improve the lives of animals who are struggling. We take action through hands-on work, educational efforts, and by involving the community in meaningful ways. We believe that when people are informed and given the chance to help, they are more likely to show compassion and take action.
One great example of this is the “Scrubbed Cares: Helping Shelter Animals” event. This was a team effort together with the Care for Paws Shelter Sanctuary (CPSS) in Silang, Cavite, held on November 23, 2024. During this event, ten volunteers came together and spent four hours giving care and attention to the dogs and cats at the shelter. The volunteers helped clean living spaces, fed the animals, played with them, and offered simple gestures of care - like petting and talking to them - which can make a big difference in the emotional well-being of animals in shelters. Many of these animals have been rescued from harsh situations, and a little kindness goes a long way in helping them feel safe and loved again.
But our work doesn’t stop there. While events like this offer direct help to animals, they also serve a bigger purpose. They raise awareness and remind people that animals need our help - not just on one day, but every day. These activities show that anyone can make a difference, no matter how big or small the effort. By creating opportunities for people to get involved, we hope to inspire a deeper understanding and encourage lasting care for animals in all parts of the community.

Education Support

SIE demonstrates a strong commitment to Education Support through a range of impactful initiatives in 2023 and 2024, focusing on empowering students, particularly those in vulnerable communities, and enhancing educational environments.

In 2023, SIE Chapter 8 made significant strides in supporting the Mangyan community in Occidental Mindoro. Their involvement in Brigada Eskwela provided essential school supplies and necessities to Mangyan students while actively promoting community engagement in education. This dedication earned the SIE team commendations as the top stakeholder in Brigada Eskwela from Malino Integrated School and recognition from Camba National High School for their valuable contribution to Project Isko.
Furthermore, their commitment extended beyond direct educational support with a Plaque of Recognition as an initial partner in the Adopt-a-Watershed Program, highlighting a holistic approach that connects environmental awareness with future educational projects.

Building on this foundation, 2024 saw continued and expanded efforts in education support. SIE Chapter 5 successfully aided the indigenous youth at Sandelain Elementary School in Nueva Ecija, providing school supplies, T-shirts, and umbrellas to 91 students, thereby empowering their educational journey as part of a broader corporate social responsibility initiative. SIE Chapter 8 further extended its impact through a Brigada Eskwela project at Canabang Elementary School, directly serving Indigenous People students in Paclolo, Magsaysay. This event provided not only school supplies and hygiene kits but also fostered a sense of community through games and shared meals.
SIE Chapter 10 Visayas actively participated in the National Learning Camp at Leyte National High School, reaching a large student population with nutritious snacks, lunch, essential school supplies, and engaging activities aimed at enhancing literacy, critical thinking, and socio-emotional skills. Additionally, SIE Chapter 10 continued its support for vulnerable children through an outreach program at the Parian Drop-in Center in Cebu, providing educational supplies and household essentials to homeless and abandoned children in collaboration with The Children of Cebu Foundation, Inc.

Collectively, these initiatives underscore SIE's multifaceted approach to Education Support. By providing essential resources, actively engaging in school maintenance and enrichment programs, and specifically targeting vulnerable populations such as indigenous youth and orphaned children, the organization is making a tangible difference in fostering educational opportunities and empowering the next generation.

Sustainable Living

At SIE, we deeply believe in the power of giving back and enriching the lives of others. Guided by this purpose, our initiatives are centered on promoting sustainable living—raising awareness and encouraging communities to embrace eco-friendly habits through activities like our annual clean-up drives and tree-planting events. We also actively collaborate with local government units and partner organizations to amplify our impact, nurturing a shared culture of sustainability and collective responsibility.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we extend support to those in the primary sector of our economy—farmers and fishermen—by providing financial assistance and essential supplies.
Through our Committee’s efforts, some of the farmers’ produce is also sold to benefit them directly, helping to uplift their livelihoods.

Beyond sustainability, SIE is equally dedicated to making a difference in the healthcare sector—particularly for those who lack access to basic medical care. Our yearly blood donation drives, medical supplies and equipment donations to hospitals, and outreach programs for social welfare institutions serving homeless children and the elderly are just some of the ways we strive to bring care and compassion where it's needed most.
Through these heartfelt efforts, SIE aims to leave a lasting impact on the community and its people. A moving moment from last year’s Gratitude Gala, where Scrubbed was honored, captured the spirit of our mission—a beneficiary shared that our help was like "a ray of hope and sunlight during their darkest moments," a gesture they will cherish forever.

Hunger & Food Security

SIE actively addresses hunger and food security through compassionate initiatives aimed at providing immediate relief and fostering long-term sustainability within vulnerable communities.

In 2023, the Adopt-a-Community SIE initiative made a significant impact by supporting 900 individuals associated with Day by Day Jesus Ministries. This extensive outreach extended beyond Pampanga to Pangasinan, reaching diverse groups including church members, street dwellers, indigenous communities, blue-collar workers, and impoverished families. The aid provided was comprehensive, including essential food items like spaghetti packs and rice, alongside other necessities.
Continuing this commitment into 2024, the SIE team demonstrated its dedication to both immediate relief and sustainable solutions for food security. On December 21st, the team extended holiday cheer to the Aeta community in Brgy. Tala, San Jose, Tarlac, providing livelihood assistance alongside gifts and quality time, demonstrating a holistic approach to community support. On the same day, December 21st, the SIE team also addressed immediate needs through a mobile food distribution, providing lunch and snacks to 200 individuals in need across San Fernando, Clark, and Angeles, specifically targeting blue-collar workers. Later that week, on December 28th, 15 volunteers from Scrubbed visited the Reception and Study Center for Children in Lubao, Pampanga, spreading holiday cheer and compassion. The event was filled with laughter, love, and meaningful activities, bringing joy and hope to the children in need. Through this heartwarming mission, Scrubbed volunteers made a lasting impact on the young hearts they connected with.
These collective efforts in Hunger & Food Security showcase SIE's dedication to not only alleviating immediate hunger but also empowering communities through sustainable agricultural support and comprehensive care for vulnerable populations. The initiatives reflect a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of food security and a commitment to creating lasting positive change.
